List of new features and major fixes for this release:

  • QR codes in creative preview
  • HTML5 expand template improvements
  • Upload of a packed HTML5 folder through the gDE API

QR codes in creative preview

In this release we introduce the possibility to display the QR code in the creative preview window in the interface. After scanning the code, the selected creative will be displayed on a mobile device. It will facilitate working with advertising formats that are aimed to be displayed not only in PC browsers. Thanks to this improvement, the creative preview will be instantly available to be tested on smaller screens.

A unique QR code will be generated for every creative and creative version. There will be a possibility to not only scan it from the computer screen but also to download it and send as an image to the client or co-workers. To display a creative with the use of the QR code you don't have to be logged in to the gemiusDirectEffect system. Thanks to this improvement, everyone to whom we would like to present our creative will be able to see it on his mobile phone or tablet.

HTML5 expand template improvements

Creatives with interactions are often much more effective than basic ones, which makes that they are more willingly used by the clients. This is why from this release, we would like to introduce improvements in the possibilities that the expand template gives.

Until now, expand creatives enlarged only after a mouse cursor was placed on the creative. In this release we will add an option to HTML5 creative to control an expand event logic.

Two options will be available:

  • an expand event is controlled by the template, so it expands after a mouse cursor is moved over the creative
  • an expand event is controlled by the creative code, so it expands accordingly to the settings used in the HTML5 code

Upload of a packed HTML5 folder through the gDE API

Until now, packed HTML5 creatives could be uploaded only through the gemiusDirectEffect interface. After this release, it will also be possible through gDE API. Thanks to this small improvement all clients that use gDE API while defining their campaigns will not need to switch between the interfaces any more to upload a .zip file with HTML5 creative.

Together with this change a new section UploadHTML5ZipFile will be added to the FileUpload table.
