Release: 25-04-2012

List of new features and major fixes for this release:

  • Statistics menu redesign
  • Statistics view redesign

Release Candidate stage achieved

We are glad to announce the we have passed Beta stage and from this moment gDE2 enters the Release Candidate stage. What does it exactly mean? It means that all previously discovered bugs have been fixed and the system is considered stable enough to advance to the last phase before official release.

According to Wikipedia, "A release candidate (RC) is a beta version with potential to be a final product, which is ready to release unless significant bugs emerge. In this stage of product stabilization, all product features have been designed, coded and tested through one or more beta cycles with no known showstopper-class bug."

If no more significant bugs emerge, we will have the final release of of gDE2 in 2-3 months time.

Statistics menu redesign

We have decided to merge all boxes from statistics and make only one box. This is a move which adheres to our clutter-free strategy. The most important premium statistics are still visible, letting you find them easily.

Statistics view redesign

We have also decided to change the order of tables and charts. There has been much feedback from our users that data in a table is more important than a chart. That's why we have moved the table to the top and no more scrolling is needed to see it.

We also introduce some improvements in the table. From now on, the first column will be blocked. Thanks to that a user can easily match indicators with objects (i.e. placements or creative) or dates (i.e. months, weeks and days).

The screenshots below present the described changes:

And a little teaser about what's next...

We have finished almost everything in order to release socio-demographic statistics, we plan to introduce it in the very near future. The soc-demo statistics will hopefully impress all of our users!
